WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- D.C. police said 3-month-old Cane Corso, Pepper, who was stolen from a boat in Navy Yard earlier this month was reunited with his owner Saturday. On Friday, Oct. 11, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded to the 100 block of Potomac Avenue for a report of a theft. There, they found out that a boat had been broken into and the dog was taken. Construction, security preparations underway ahead of Election, 2025 Inauguration in DC MPD said it published photos of Pepper after the theft and on Saturday, Oct. 19, a "good Samaritan" returned Pepper to his owner. They had bought the dog from an online ad before they discovered that Pepper had been stolen.
