MARION, Ind. — Two people were injured during a shooting in Marion early Sunday morning. According to a press release from the Marion Police Department, dispatchers received reports of shots fired in the area of 34th and Felton Streets around 1:47 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they located several spent shell casings. Officers later received a report from a hospital in Marion that indicated two people had walked into the emergency room with gunshot wounds. Police ultimately determined one of the victims had sustained a graze wound on the back of her head. The other victim, who was initially believed to have been shot, was actually cut by glass, according to MPD. After an interview with witnesses, MPD determined the shooting was the result of an argument that started at Big H Sports Bar, which is located at 3022 S. Washington St. in Marion. Police believe the victims that they found at the hospital were followed by multiple suspects when they left the bar. MPD also reported that the vehicle the victims had left the bar in was struck by gunfire. Police have indicated that multiple homes in the area the shooting unfolded in were hit by stray bullets. MPD is still looking into the incident. Police are asking those with information on the shooting to contact MPD's criminal investigation division at (765) 668-4417 or Crime Stoppers of Grant Count at (765) 662-8477. As of this article's publication, no additional information on the incident had been made available.
