MANDAN, ND (KXNET) — Along the peaceful Missouri River, there was a culinary smack-down, taking place this evening. And the stakes were high as three teams of bartenders and chefs faced off for both bragging rights and titles through The Paddle Trap's Second Annual Chef Showdown. For the price of $40, people in the Bismarck-Mandan area were treated to three sample entrees and cocktails. And by taking copious notes and engaging in tense talk across the table, they'd be able to decide which bar-tender and chef takes first place. While the showdown is a great way to challenge their staff with some friendly competition, people who attended also said it was a great way to bring the community together for some fun and good eats.
