WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- DC Fire and EMS (DCFD) said someone was seriously hurt after trying to light a fire pit on their balcony in Northwest. Firefighters responded to a high-rise apartment building in the 1900 block of 14th St. after someone attempted to light their fire pit outside on the balcony. Firefighters respond to kitchen fire in Northeast DC apartment building DCFD said one person received "serious injuries" and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
