MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — Simmons Farm in Middletown said that it would be closing after 25 years in business. In a Facebook post the farm said its final day of operation will be on Dec. 1, as it was served a termination of tenancy order for Dec. 31. “It was our greatest honor to share in your lives; to grow your food, share in your celebrations at goat yoga, celebrate your many birthdays, engagements, family reunions, holiday get togethers on the goat hikes, all the conversations about farming to family and everything in between during the cheese classes,” the post read. The farm also thanked the community and its patrons over the years. “You’ll never know how much it has meant to us to be there with you and you being there for us,” it said.
