VICTOR, N.Y. (WROC) – Al Sigl Community of Agencies had its 35th annual walk Sunday morning at Eastview Mall in Victor. People of all ages and abilities were able to wear their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat, play games, and take part in the costume contests. The event was free and all of the donations will benefit more than 55,000 children and adults with special needs in the Rochester community served by Al Sigl. Those who took part were able to choose to raise funds for the entire Al Sigl community or an individual agency. Those with Al Sigl said, "Registrants were able to choose a brand-new costume to wear at the event, thanks to a generous donation, including adapted costumes donated by Target with design details for individuals who use adaptive equipment or have sensory needs." Every year, Al Sigl asks attendees to share their reasons why they chose to attend. Many responses involve honoring the help a family member received. "Because an Al Sigl Member Agency has given so much to our son; services that we could never give to him without their help," one parent said. "We walk to give a little bit back."
