WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A teenage girl died after she was hit by a Jeep on Saturday. The call came in around 6 p.m. near Sedgwick County Park at 13th Street and Ridge Road. Police said two teens were walking north across 13th Street when the girl was hit. "A couple of citizens stopped. CPR was administered to that particular juvenile and was taken to the local hospital where they passed away," Lt. Doug Gerdes, Wichita Police Department, said. Machinists Union begins vote on new Textron offer Police haven't released the teen's identity. Gerdes said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash. However, he added that the sun is very bright at the time of day, which could have been a contributing factor. Police have said the incident is still being investigated and that the driver is cooperating. KSN News will update this story as more information is made available.
