Last night Juan Soto hit a 3 run homerun in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Yankees and push them into the 2024 World Series. Tied 2-2 in the 10th, Juan Soto took a Hunter Gaddis pitch deep and sent a charge through the Yankees dugout as they all knew they were now only three outs away from winning the pennant. They went on to take it 5-2 and oust the Guardians in Game 5. Now they await the winner of the NLCS between the Mets and the Dodgers. Either way, the World Series will be a battle of the bank accounts. The Yankees and Dodgers are notorious for “buying” players, and the Mets new-ish owner Steve Cohen outright said he was going to spend as much as it takes to buy a title. So while the moneyball era may be gone, at least we can see most of the best players in the league on the biggest stage. Los Angeles can close out the series tonight against New York in Game 6.
