NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) -- A house fire in Newport News has left a pet dead.
Just before 7 a.m. Sunday, the Newport News Fire Department responded to a 2-alarm on the 800 block Cascade Drive.
According to officials, the home was heavily damaged by the fire. No one was hurt, and four dogs were rescued.
Viewer video shows multiple fire engines on the scene, and pictures show flames raging from the roof with large plumes of black smoke pouring from the windows.

Crews were still on the scene early Sunday morning hitting hot spots.
The fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
