PITTSBURGH — Almost seven months after he was acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, Haason Reddick will finally report to the Jets facility. Reddick ended his holdout Sunday morning and has agreed to an adjusted contract, a source confirms. ESPN was the first to report that Reddick would end his lengthy holdout. “We look forward to working with the Jets to get this resolved as soon as possible,” Drew Rosenhaus, who negotiated Reddick’s contract, said to ESPN ahead of the Jets’ game last week against the Bills. “Haason would like to be a New York Jet for years to come and our goal is to make that happen.” Reddick will now report on Monday and will have more than $12 million in fines waived in exchange for him returning to the team. It has been a frantic two weeks for the Jets.  On Oct. 8, Jets owner Woody Johnson fired coach Robert Saleh and made defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich the interim head coach. Ulbrich then demoted offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett from his play-calling duties and gave passing game coordinator Todd Downing those responsibilities. Then, on Wednesday, the Jets acquired wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade with the Raiders. Now they will get Reddick in the building, hoping to make a run following a disappointing start to the 2024 season. The Jets haven’t won a game since their Sept. 19 victory over the Patriots. They’re 2-4 and in third place in the AFC East. In March, the Jets acquired Reddick in a trade for the Eagles and he told reporters during his introductory press conference it was a “new beginning.” However, he did not report for spring workouts and OTAs. Reddick also didn’t report for mandatory minicamp and training camp after he was frustrated that he did not have a long-term contract worked out with the Jets. On Aug. 12, Reddick requested a trade, but Jets general manager Joe Douglas denied his request and said they wouldn’t negotiate with the pass rusher until he came to the team facility. On Oct. 10, Reddick’s former agency, Creative Artists Agency, parted ways with him. Reddick then hired Rosenhaus Sports as his new representative. Reddick was scheduled to make $14.25 million in base salary in the final year of a three-year, $45 million contract he signed with the Eagles in 2022. After registering 50.5 sacks from 2020-23, Reddick believed he outperformed his initial contract, which is why he requested a trade from the Eagles in the first place. Now Reddick, 30, will join a Jets team that has registered 20 sacks this season, which is tied for third in the NFL. However, Gang Green could use Reddick after Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles in the team’s Week 2 victory against the Titans. The Jets also have just five sacks in their last three games.
