Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) said Sunday that Democrats have to “keep doing the work” for Vice President Harris as concerns grow over Black voter turnout. Warnock joined CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday morning and was asked by the host Margaret Brennan to weigh in on the lag of support for Harris among Black voters. “Oh, we just have to keep doing the work. And the good news is, that’s exactly what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are doing. They’re not taking anything for granted,” Warnock said. Previous polling showed Harris had not gained as much support among Black voters as past Democratic presidential candidates. Concern grew that she would miss out on votes from the critical voting bloc. But, new polling found Harris maintains a lead over former President Trump among Black voters in swing states. Warnock noted Harris is spending time on the campaign trail in Georgia, a critical battleground state that barely went for President Biden in 2020. “So, we’ll keep doing the work, and we’re going to get her over the finish line in Georgia and in the country,” he said.
