College Wrap: Rider men’s soccer gets 10 win at Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Bryan Akongo tapped in a rebound in the 78th minute and the Rider men’s soccer team beat Fairfield, 1-0, on Saturday night at Lessing Field.
The Broncs (9-4, 3-1) won their third straight game to move one point behind co-leaders Siena and Mount St. Mary’s.
The Stags (2-7-3, 1-1-1) had a five-match unbeaten run snapped.
Princeton 2, Columbia 1
NEW YORK — Nico Nee and Gabriel Duchovny scored in the second half and the Tigers (6-5, 3-1) overcame an early goal by the Lions (1-9-1, 1-2-1) to snap a two-game skid.

EWING — Trevor Bopp threw three touchdown passes to Ryan Gill, Justin Kuric had a pair of interceptions, including one he returned to the end zone, and the Lions (4-2, 1-1) thrashed the Cougars (2-4, 2-1) to celebrate Homecoming.
Bopp finished 17-of-28 for 347 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.
Malin Jasinski hauled in 10 passes for 108 yards and a touchdown and Gill caught three for 107.

Princeton 3, Harvard 1
PRINCETON — Pietra Tordin scored her third goal of the season since returning from the U20 World Cup, Kayla Wong and Alexandra Barry were also on target and the Tigers (9-4, 4-1) defeated the Crimson (5-3-5, 1-3-1).
Siena 2, Rider 0
LAWRENCEVILLE — Megan Stowell and Cate Flanagan scored goals in each half and the Saints (8-7-2, 5-3-2) blanked the goal-shy Broncs (2-9-3, 1-6-1).
TCNJ 6, Rutgers-Newark 0
NEWARK — Six different players got on the scoresheet as the Lions (12-0-2, 6-0) remained unbeaten when they cruised past Rutgers-Newark (5-7-3, 1-4-1). Cassidy DiSabato, Taylor Krott, Ella Van Dine, Abby Najdzinowicz, Rachel Robichaud and Greta Bush were the goal scorers.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Ella Cashman redirected a penalty corner into the goal for her second tally of the game and the Tigers (9-4, 5-0) came from down a goal to beat the Crimson (10-3, 4-1) in overtime.

EWING — Mackenzie Hart’s fourth-quarter tally was the lone goal to separate the Lions (9-5, 3-1) from the Red Hawks (10-4, 3-1).
