MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Memphis Police say a woman standing outside a downtown hotel was hit by gunfire from a drive-by shooting Saturday night. Memphis Police responded after shots were fired from two vehicles on South Main Street near Nettleton Avenue at 7:35 p.m. Police say a woman was taken to Regional One Hospital in non-critical condition. Investigators reportedly believe that one of the suspects was also injured in the shooting. Woman dead after getting shot at Shelby Farms; suspect detained S Main at Nettleton Memphis Police say one group of suspects was driving a Dodge Challenger. The Challenger was found unoccupied at Doctor M.L.K. Jr. Avenue and South Second Street. Investigators determined the vehicle was stolen. Police say the other suspects were riding in a silver sedan that fled southbound on Main Street. Last month, people at a dog park nearby on Front Street had to dive for cover when someone in a white sedan jumped out of his car with an AK-47-style weapon and opened fire on another vehicle. No one in the dog park was hurt, but there were 17 bullet holes on the side of the Malco Powerhouse Cinema across the street. Front Street & G.E. Patterson Shortly after the shooting, police recovered a stolen white charger with bullet holes and blood in the 1000 block of St James Street. Investigators say two males, possibly from the vehicle, were treated at the hospital for gunshot wounds to their legs.
