A small plane crashed off the runway while landing at Fallbrook Community Airpark on Saturday and the pilot was uninjured, authorities said.
According to Federal Aviation Administration records, the aircraft was a fixed-wing, single-engine Piper PA-32-301T registered to a Fallbrook resident. It crashed shortly after 9 a.m. at the county-owned airport that is northwest of Interstate 15 and State Route 76.
“The solo aircraft overran the runway and crashed at the end of the runway,” said North County Fire Protection District Capt. John Choi, adding that the plane did not catch fire.
The pilot did not suffer any injuries and there were no passengers, he added.
Due to fire engines responding to the incident, airport operations stopped until 10:47 a.m.
The aircraft was towed away from the runway “with no issues,” said Choi.
