Registration fees are $25 for the fun run and $35 for the 8K race. OKCPS students can participate at no cost. The deadline for online registration is November 1 at noon but those who are interested may still sign up at the site on race day. “We are excited to be able to host this race for a second year, after a really successful launch last year,” said OKCPS Athletic Director Eddie Wright. “We have increased the number of student athletes who are running in track and cross country in the last few years and want to keep that momentum going. This run is a great way to introduce running to students so they can try it out and decide if it is something they would like to pursue. The route is USATF certified and awards will be given out for overall and masters male and female winners and top three in age groups.” Proceeds from the race registrations will go to helping OKCPS students through the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation, OKCPS Athletics Department and the Simon Greiner Track & Field Program. Here is a timeline for the day of the event: 8:30am - 8K Race 9:15am - 8K Awards 10am - One Mile “Fun Run” For more information on the River Run or to register online, click here.
