(WGHP) — An Alamance County woman is facing felony charges after being accused of strangling a child, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday, deputies launched an investigation into an allegation of child abuse in Alamance County. 5-year-old found wandering from North Carolina school, brought home by good Samaritan   A juvenile victim reported to investigators that they were assaulted by Jordan Paige Hayes and probable cause was established to charge Hayes with felony child abuse. Jordan Paige Hayes (ACSO) Hayes was taken into custody on Wednesday. On Thursday, deputies say they investigated the case further and gained probable cause to charge Hayes with felony assault by strangulation. A warrant for Hayes' arrest states that the juvenile victim suffered multiple abrasions on their body, a bloody nose and was suffering from a lack of oxygen. The juvenile victim also had scratches on their throat from the strangulation. Hayes is accused in the warrant of "placing her hand on the victim's throat" and covering their "nose and mouth." Hayes made a first appearance in court on Thursday and her bond was set at $20,000 secured. She currently remains in custody in Alamance County.
