ANTIGO, Wis. (WFRV) — A federal grand jury indicted a 34-year-old man from northern Wisconsin on Oct. 8, 2024, for allegedly receiving and distributing child pornography. According to the indictment, Jacob D. Theisen of Antigo is accused of distributing child pornography via the internet on or about Jan. 20, 2023. The indictment also alleges that he received child pornography through the internet on June 12, 2021. Serious injuries reported in single-vehicle crash on State Highway 33 in Wisconsin If convicted on either charge, Theisen faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, with a maximum potential sentence of 20 years. He could also be fined up to $250,000 and would be required to register as a sex offender under state and federal law. Search efforts for missing man in northern Wisconsin reach 7th day, authorities provide update This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children online and to identify and rescue victims. The Antigo Police Department investigated this case with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigations. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble.
