WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a woman was injured and dozens of cars were damaged during a shooting on Thursday night in Northwest D.C. Police said that at about 9 p.m., they received a call for service from CIC ShotSpotter to the 700 block of Quebec Place in the Petworth area. When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple shell casings on the ground and dozens of cars damaged. DC hosts ‘Breast Care for Washington’ event with free mammogram screenings Police then met with the victim at 445 Manor Place NW who said she was coming out of a convenience store and getting into her car when saw a suspect coming out of an alley and firing several shots. The victim said she then drove home where she called 911 and told them she had been shot. Police said the woman was shot on the left side of her back and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
