ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One of the suspects in a homicide on Christmas last year pleaded guilty Friday morning. Brucewayne Beaman was in court and pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter after the fatal beating of 60-year-old Michael Dicesare. He has agreed to waive his right to appeal. Beaman was originally charged with second-degree murder. He is now expected to serve 25 years in prison. Dicesare was found beaten at the corner of Bay Street and Portland Avenue. He had significant head and upper body trauma. He died over a month later. Investigators said Beaman, along with 33-year-old Guy Mustgray, beat him with a handgun and an edged weapon. It was alleged they stole items from him. Mustgray was also charged with second-degree murder, but he pleaded not guilty. He was also offered the plea deal of manslaughter, but the judge granted the defense time to review the deal.
