SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Friday is all about promoting breast health. Through our Buddy Check 3 partnership with St. Joseph's/Candler (SJ/C), WSAV is holding our 2024 Mammography Day. Jenkins High School is the host, allowing students to learn about good breast health, breast cancer and early detection. SJ/C has brought out their Mobile Mammography Unit which will allow over a dozen women to get their mammographies on Friday. The bus travels all over the area, making mammograms more accessible. All day long, WSAV will be speaking with members of the community about the importance of breast health education and resources like the Mobile Mammography Unit. The Southern Motors Savannah CDJR Lady Pink also came out to Jenkins High Friday morning, along with MGreen Productions, to let students sign the Jeep in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the SJ/C Telfair Mammography Fund. Below, watch our interview with Carol Paige from SJ/C about their big, green bus and its capabilities. Our interview with Dr. Justin Durham, principal of Jenkins High School, about breast health education:
