ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque family says their son's legacy is living on after receiving a special honor from a local company and the Make a Wish Foundation. Two brothers receive life-changing medical treatment from UNMH At the age of three, Seth Wharton was diagnosed with Battens Disease, a terminal nervous system disorder. When Seth became too sick to travel Make a Wish created a backyard camping oasis for Seth. It was complete with tents, sleeping bags, an outdoor movie theater and more. Seth passed away in 2020, but his legacy carries on. For the second year in a row, Make a Wish auctioned off the naming rights to their 'wish room' where children come to plan their dream experience. When Albuquerque company LodeStar cast the winning bid, they dedicated it as the Seth Wharton Wish Room. Make a Wish New Mexico says this is the first time the room has been dedicated to a wish child.
