EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Risk Management Institute (RMI) is hosting a hands on excavation safety festival on Friday, Oct. 18. Shaun Felice/ KTSM 9 News The event will be from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Friday at the Mission del Paso Campus located at 10700 Gateway Blvd East. The event will feature practical training and live demonstrations focused on "safe excavation practices and trench safety, including simulations of trench cave-ins, pipeline ruptures, and electrical contact incidents," EPCC said. Food, drinks, and prizes will be available for participants, and 20 earth-moving equipment, helicopters, and fire trucks will be present at the event.
