Prince Williams/WireImage And all he found were turkey legs Keith Lee is among the many who are curious about the State Fair of Texas. In a new TikTok, the sometime food critic shared that a business obligation brought him and his family back to Dallas, and they put into the contract that they would get to visit the State Fair while they were in town. Obviously, they ate. @keith_lee125 Texas State Fair taste test would you try it ? #foodcritic ♬ original sound - Keith Lee The family appears to have driven in through a standard gate because stars — they’re just like us! As one does, the Lees seemed to run into turkey legs at every turn. His first bite was a steak kebab the size of his head. It was pronounced “well done” but “seasoned well” and scored a five out of 10, which would become the standard rating for fair food that night. Next was an ear of corn on the cobb, which Lee noted had no salt, butter, or seasoning. No rating; apparently not worth it. Pretty sure someone would have given him something to season it with if he asked, though. After that, Lee tried this year’s breakout bite: cotton candy bacon. It merited a 5.5 out of 10, which he felt was a high score because he thought he wouldn’t like it at all — why are we eating things we don’t think we’ll like? Turkey legs finally tempted him in the form of tacos, which Lee pronounced as just shredded turkey leg meat in a taco. Did he expect something else? The world may never know, but it got a five. Finally, Lee found something he liked in a brisket sandwich. It got an eight, the highest score of the fair. He didn’t identify the vendor but the little logos on the wrapper suggest it came from Fun Biz concessions, which does a variety of fair foods at various events — yup, not even a local barbecue wiz. Just fair food. All right then.
