(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department said as of Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 a.m. Colorado Task Force 1 (CO-TF1) is on the road headed home. CO-TF1 is one of 28 Federal Emergency Management Agency task forces that specialize in urban search and rescue. CO-TF1 was deployed to the southeastern U.S. in late September to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The task force relocated to multiple areas over three weeks after the devastation of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Clearwater, Fla.
