GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Vice President Kamala Harris delivered her longest campaign speech yet in Wisconsin, nearly half an hour long, at the Resch Expo Center Thursday evening. With 19 days remaining until election day, the Democratic presidential nominee made her case to working and middle class voters. "The American Dream, that was real for generations past, but not so much within the reach of people right now," Harris said. "And we've got to deal with the real challenges people are facing right now if we want to invest in the future." The theme of the rally was "A New Way Forward for Wisconsin," and Harris made points about how her past, present and future work and experience makes her the best candidate to represent all Americans. "There was a woman who lived two door down from us who helped my mother raise us," Harris said. "She was a small business owner. I know who are small business owners are, you are not only business leaders, you are community leaders, you are civic leaders." From early on in her career, Harris claims that her number one client has always been the people of America. "As a young courtroom prosecutor, I stood up for women and children against predators. As the attorney general of California, I took on the big banks and helped to deliver $20 million to families facing foreclosure," she said. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is set to campaign in Michigan on Sunday, and Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz will make stops in Illinois and Nebraska on Saturday.
