Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images The Detroit Lions released their Week 7 Thursday injury report and Carlton Davis was absent for the second straight day, while Kevin Zeitler pops up with a new injury. The Detroit Lions were back on the field on Thursday as they prepared to take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7. The Lions were able to return three offensive linemen to practice, while they were still missing a key member of their secondary. Let’s take a look at Thursday’s injury report and get you up to date with what we know. Note that any changes from yesterday’s report will be bolded. No practice CB Carlton Davis (quad) Davis missed his second straight practice and it’s fair to contemplate if he will be unavailable against the Vikings. On Wednesday, coach Dan Campbell noted that he felt “optimistic” about Davis being ready to play, but also said there was a “small chance” that he may not be ready, and he would know more after Thursday’s practice. We will likely get an update on Davis on Friday, during Campbell’s press conference, but for now, things are in limbo. If Davis is unable to play, the Lions could turn to veteran Kindle Vildor—which is what they did in Dallas after Davis exited—or could potentially turn to rookie Ennis Rakestraw. Limited practice RG Kevin Zeitler (groin) — returned to practice, but new injury Zeitler returned to practice after a rest day, but he is now listed with a groin injury. Hopefully, this isn’t something he suffered during Thursday’s practice, but rather a nagging issue. It’s hard to determine where his status is at for Sunday, but we should know more on Friday. Full practice C Frank Ragnow (rest) — returned to practice G Christian Mahogany (illness, NFI) —Still on NFI: 11 days remain in evaluation window OT Dan Skipper (ribs) — returned to practice S Brian Branch (knee) Ragnow got a veteran rest day on Wednesday but he was back in the fold on Thursday and on the right path starting on Sunday. Mahogany continues to get his work in as he attempts to convince coaches that he is developing quickly enough to justify a spot on the active roster. After missing practice on Wednesday, Skipper returned to the practice field on Thursday and things are pointing in the right direction for him to be available this weekend. He’ll need to stack another practice on Friday, but things are progressing well. Branch was able to get in another practice on Thursday and also appears to be in a good spot to play on Sunday.
