A Denver woman was sentenced Thursday to a year and a day in jail after stealing nearly $500,000 from Amazon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Tiffany Vo, 37, took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to wire fraud for stealing $483,393.58 from Amazon, her employer, federal officials said in a news release. Vo worked for Amazon and administered virtual employee programs between the summer of 2020 and at least June of 2022, according to the news release. During that time, Vo fabricated invoices and expense reports to claim reimbursement for hundreds of thousands of dollars for corporate events that did not happen, federal officials said in the release. Vo spent the stolen funds on a variety of personal expenses, including designer handbags and sunglasses, payments toward her condo, two vehicles, exercise equipment and thousands of dollars of beauty products, federal officials said.
