SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) - San Diego is only expected to get a few sprinkles to light rain with a system moving southeast from the Pacific Northwest to the Great Basin.  Although there was a mostly cloudy start to the day, there were some breaks due to a less thick layer this morning.  Isolated light rain showers could occur for beaches and valleys Thursday evening overnight into Friday. A deeper marine layer tonight could produce some spotty sprinkles with accumulations generally less than a tenth inch of rain. Most areas will pick up one-hundredth to five-hundredths an inch of rain. Gusty westerly winds picked up Thursday afternoon mainly for mountains and deserts where gusts up to 55 miles per hour were possible. For Friday, high pressure over the East Pacific will shift us into a northerly flow by late morning. Available moisture will decrease rapidly, leading to elevated fire concern across Southern California this weekend. Weekend temperatures will warm up a bit as well with mid 70's at the coast and mid to upper 80's inland.
