CANTON, Mass. (WWLP) - People across the country will get an inside look at Karen Read's trial on NBC's ‘Dateline’ special Friday night. Read is facing charges related to the 2022 death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe. Read’s retrial is set to begin in January. NBC will air a two-hour episode featuring a sit-down interview with Karen Read after her case was declared a mistrial this past summer. You can watch it on 22News starting at 9 p.m.  Prosecutors ask Massachusetts’ highest court to allow murder retrial for Karen Read The murder trial of Karen Read made national headlines. O'Keefe died after being found unresponsive outside a friend's home on a snowy morning. Prosecutors said Read hit O'Keefe with her car and left him to die in the cold while her defense team says Read is being framed for the murder by the police. On Friday’s "The Night of the Nor'easter" episode, 'Dateline' talks with the woman at the center of it all, Karen Read, those closest to the case, including family and friends of John O'Keefe. Andrea Canning: A monster storm had rolled into Canton, Massachusetts and Karen Read's boyfriend, Officer John O'Keefe was dead. His body was discovered lying in front of another officer's house.
