Southaven shooting suspect caught after foot chase

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect in an attempted murder was found and captured Thursday in Southaven, Mississippi, police say.
Southaven Police say they responded to a call about a shooting Monday in the 1700 block of Dorchester Drive. The victim was later found with a gunshot wound at Baptist DeSoto hospital.
An investigation pointed to Detrich Neal, 20, as the suspect in the shooting, police said.
Neal was found Thursday, walking in the area of Tchulahoma and Heather Ridge in Southaven. When officers approached, they say he ran into a wooded area.
Neal was caught after a short pursuit and placed into custody without incident.

He is charged with Attempt to Commit Murder and Armed Robbery, police said. A mug shot was not immediately available.
