MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tops Bar-B-Q and Burgers says a mechanical issue is to blame for a fire early Thursday morning that damaged its location at Summer Avenue and National Street. CEO Randy Hough said quick-thinking employees reported the fire, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly. However, the store at Summer Avenue and National Street will be closed for an undetermined amount of time while repairs are being made to the business. "As the safety and security of Tops employees, customers, and communities is our top priority, we are thankful to report that no one was injured in the fire today at Tops Summer National," said Hough. "We are working to determine the extent of the damage and a plan for repairs and reopening. We would love to see our customers at any of our other 16 locations, including the Tops on Summer at Berclair just right down the road.” Trump assassination suspect demands Judge Cannon recuse from case Southaven shooting suspect caught after foot chase Tony Allen excited for jersey retirement set for March Lifewise Academy transformes lives through Bible studies for students Morant and Smart set to return but Jackson remains sidelined for preseason finale Tops has not released a damage estimate.
