Man dead after shooting on Indy's near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead after a shooting on the city's near northwest side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of W. 29th Street, near the intersection with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, shortly before 2 p.m. on report of a person shot.

Officers arrived on scene and reported finding a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead on scene.
Police said the man was found lying in an alley.
At this time, no further information has been released as the investigation remains active and ongoing. Police do not believe there is any threat to the public.
