HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) -- A High Point man was arrested on Wednesday in connection to multiple crimes, including two road rage incidents, according to a High Point Police Department news release. For more than a month, a detective has been investigating incidents involving a person with a weapon. One case involved a suspect pointing a weapon at an elderly couple during a road rage incident. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Jesse Johnson, 42, of High Point. On Wednesday detectives arrested Johnson at an apartment complex in the 100 block of Woodvalley Court. He had a concealed gun with him when he was arrested. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the apartment and seized another gun, bodyarmor with rifle plates, about 20 grams of an unknown substance, marijuana and more than$1,900 in cash. Detectives charged Johnson with: carrying a concealed gun possession with intent to sell and distribute schedule II controlled substance possession of schedule VI controlled substance possession of a firearm by a felon Johnson is also charged in a shooting and a road rage incident. On Tuesday at about 4:40 p.m., officers responded to a shots fired call at a Murphy USA on North Main Street. A witness told officers a man fired one shot in the air and then drove off. No one was hurt. Detectives identified the suspect as Johnson. His charges in that case are: possession of a firearm by a felon armed to the terror of the public discharging a firearm in city limits While investigating the incident at Murphy USA, investigators recognized the suspect’s vehicle from a road rage incident reported on Sept. 6. In that case, the victim told officers he was driving on Skeet Club Road when a vehicle sped by him and cut him off. The victim said he pointed at the driver to signal he should slow down. When the vehicles stopped at the intersection of Skeet Club Road and Johnson Street, the victim said the suspect got out of his vehicle, pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the victim and his wife. The suspect did not fire the weapon, and no one was hurt. The suspect got back in his vehicle and drove away. Johnson is charged with assault by pointing a gun and armed to the terror of the public. He was taken to the Guilford County Jail in High Point. His bond was set at $500,000 for all thecharges.
