GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) hosted about 200 high school students from northeast and north central Wisconsin on Thursday for an energy career fair in Green Bay. The career fair invited students for fun and engaging ways to learn about the jobs that help power the communities they live in. The event took place at the Great Lakes Energy Education Center on the campus of Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). What’s the Coolest Thing Made In Wisconsin? Winner of annual contest announced Students who participated were given the chance to work with WPS employees through interactive looks at tools, equipment and systems that help keep lights/heat on in homes. "This is something new for all of them," Adam Trebel , the Green Bay Area Public School District Career and Technical Education Coordinator said. "These are students that have shown interest in this field." The activities included were as follows, according to the release: Solar energy installation challenge Electric vehicle demonstration Interactive solar panel and energy storage lab Heating, ventilation and air conditioning demonstrations Home weatherization testing using infrared cameras Thermal imaging tests with drones For more information on the event itself, visit this link.
