COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The annual earthquake drill known as “The Great Shakeout” was held across the country on Thursday.
Members of the South Carolina Emergency Management Division and over 320 thousand participants statewide took part in the event by practicing what to do during an earthquake.
Organizers say folks should remember three things.
Drop onto your hands and knees, cover your head and neck with one arm as you crawl for shelter under a nearby table or desk, and hold on to your shelter until the shaking stops.
