BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The presidential election, local open primaries and congressional races are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 5. Here's what Louisiana voters need to know about when, where you can vote early, find your sample ballot or get an absentee ballot. Early voting will be held from Friday, Oct. 18 to Tuesday, Oct. 29. Sunday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 27, are excluded from this period. Voting hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents who want to vote early can use the GeauxVote mobile app to find their early voting locations, review their sample ballot and check out the Election Day voting site. You'll be asked to show a photo ID to vote. That could be a Louisiana driver's license, state-issued special ID card, digital license via LA Wallet, military ID or a picture identification with name and signature. Ask for it through the Louisiana Voter Portal online or in writing at the local Registrar of Voters Office. Absentee ballots must be received by the registrar by 4:30 p.m. Nov. 4 (other than for military and overseas voters). On Nov. 5, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Any runoff elections will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7.
