ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The driver who was involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Rochester earlier this month has turned himself in. On the evening of October 2, 37-year-old Hanif Moffett was found dead at the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Broad Street. Investigators said he was hit by a Subaru, which was later found parked at an Alphonse Street home. It was alleged that the driver, 21-year-old Vincent Moore, was heading west on Lyell Ave. when he struck Moffett, who police said had stepped into the roadway. Officers said Moore called 911 but left the scene and drove to his home on Alphonse St. Moore was cooperative with the investigation and there was no evidence he was impaired or intoxicated. He turned himself in and was taken to the Monroe County Jail. Moore has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operator. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday morning in Rochester City Court.
