Henrietta man accused of using social media in attempt to lure and rape child

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Henrietta man has been accused of trying to lure and rape a child, according to the Webster Police Department.
It was alleged that Adil Dastagir, 30, made contact with someone he thought was a 14-year-old online for sexual purposes. He was arrested last Friday.
Dastagir was charged with second-degree attempted rape, attempted luring a child into a vehicle or building, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated unlicensed operation.
He was arraigned in Webster Town Court and released under supervision. He is due back in court on November 13, 2024.
