RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A fourth suspect has been arrested in the 2018 murder of Adrian Johnson. Bernalillo County Special Agents apprehended Jayde Lucas-Gutierrez in Rio Rancho after a felony arrest warrant was issued for her arrest earlier this month. The 28-year-old is now facing a first-degree murder charge and is in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). Three other suspects have been arrested for their involvement in the homicide: Toure Britt, Kevin Geier, and Brandon Mendez. Britt is behind bars while waiting for his trial on a first-degree murder charge. Mendez is facing one open count of murder and is in custody at the MDC. Geier is serving time at the Arizona State Prison Complex and has two felony warrants for murders in New Mexico; one is for Johnson's death, and the other is for the murder of Samuel Almanza just a few days later. Albuquerque man sentenced for killing 2 women in 2021 Adrian Johnson was killed near Coors Boulevard and Interstate 40 in March 2018. According to the criminal complaint, Geier, Britt, and Mendez went with Johnson as backup for a fight with another individual, but Geier and Britt decided to shoot Johnson instead. Witnesses said they saw a female at the scene, who was identified as Geier's girlfriend, Jayde Lucas-Gutierrez. Johnson was found dead with two gunshot wounds, and the suspects drove off in a previously stolen vehicle, which was later found burned in the Rio Puerco.
