FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fairhaven Water Department continues to flush water mains following reports of dirty water throughout the town. Flushing will begin tonight at 9 p.m., and continue until 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. Residents in the affected area are being asked to not use their water while hydrant flushing is underway. If you do, it might draw the dirty water into your property. The areas of flushing will include Howland Road northerly to the Acushnet Line, and Alden Road westerly to the New Bedford city line. If you see discolored water, officials advised residents to run the cold water taps only. They also added that you should not use hot water taps throughout your home for up to 15 minutes, or until the water clears. Categories: News
