Former One Direction star Liam Payne died yesterday, after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Argentina.  He was 31.  Police don’t know yet if the fall was an accident or intentional.   Witnesses say Liam had been acting erratically in the lobby prior to the fall.  He smashed his laptop and had to be helped back to his room.   Liam was in Argentina to attend a show by his former bandmate, Niall Horan.   His girlfriend Kate Cassidy was with him for a while, but she left a few days ago, while Liam stayed on.   An ex-girlfriend named Maya Henry recently got a restraining order against Liam, saying he was harassing her.  They split up in 2022, after she accused him of cheating.   Liam was active on social media right up until the day of his death, and his posts didn’t indicate that he was having any issues.   Liam and his bandmates rose to fame after One Direction was created by Simon Cowell on the British show “X Factor”.  After the band split, he released his first EP in 2018, and his first album in 2019.   His latest single, “Teardrops”, came out earlier this year.   Liam has a 7-year-old son with his former girlfriend, singer and “X Factor” judge Cheryl Cole.   (There’s no word yet from any of Liam’s bandmates, but here’s how Paris Hilton is feeling.  You can see more tributes here.)   (TMZ actually posted pictures showing parts of Liam’s dead body . . . but took them down when people started complaining.)   (Hollywood Reporter, TMZ)
