LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred this past summer in Lexington. Police report that 20-year-old Trent Watkins was taken into custody on assault charges Wednesday. Watkins is accused of shooting a woman on Hillcrest Avenue near Highland Drive on June 28. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Watkins is scheduled for an arraignment on the charges at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
