WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Another vice presidential hopeful is visiting the Triad, and he'll be joined by a celebrated artist and activist. A week after Senator JD Vance held a townhall in Greensboro, Governor Tim Walz will make a stop in Winston-Salem for an event marking the start of early voting in North Carolina. Walz will be joined by rapper and actor Common. "Together, Governor Walz and Common will speak directly to North Carolinians about the power of their voice and their vote and encourage voters across the state to get to the polls and cast their vote ahead of the November 5th election," a release from the Harris-Walz campaign states. The candidates have frequently visited North Carolina as the election draws closer, with polling showing former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in a tight race across most swing states, including here in North Carolina. You can RSVP here, however there's no guarantee of entry. The event begins at 4 p.m.
