MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) — Authorities in Wisconsin responded to multiple 911 calls Wednesday evening after a tenant at an apartment complex was reportedly screaming and throwing items out of a smashed window. On Oct. 16, 2024, officers with the Monona Police Department received reports of a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 300 block of W. Broadway St. A caller walking a dog nearby said objects were being thrown from a second-story window. ‘Male moron menacing Menasha after midnight:’ Fox Crossing police seek help identifying suspect in attempted thefts Upon arrival, officers found a large gaming console smashed on the ground, believed to have been thrown from the apartment. Fortunately, no one was in the area at the time, despite the busy afternoon foot traffic. As officers tried to communicate with the tenant from the hallway, they reported hearing the individual making threats about shooting officers before ceasing communication. Backup was called, and it was discovered that the man had previous encounters with the Menasha Police Department, including recent incidents of disturbing behavior. After gathering information from witnesses, police determined a criminal act had occurred. Based on probable cause involving a serious felony, officers obtained a search warrant. Despite multiple attempts to engage the suspect in dialogue, efforts to get him to surrender were unsuccessful.
