CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  With just a few weeks left until election day, polls are now open for early in person voting  in North Carolina. In Mecklenburg County there are 33 early voting locations open across the county, including at Bank of America Stadium.  North Carolinians will be required to show a photo id in order to vote. In person early voting sites will be open every day  until Saturday, November 2nd. During the early voting period you can vote at any of the 33 sites,  but on election day you can only vote at your assigned precinct. Election officials said people who have been displaced due to Hurricane Helene will still be able to vote.  “If somebody is displaced and they’re temporarily living in Charlotte or in Mecklenburg County, they may drop off their absentee ballot with my office or at one of my early voting sites. The individual may or a near relative may be able to drop off that. And if that’s the case, then I will log it in and send it up to the proper county,” Mecklenburg County Board of Elections director Michael Dickerson said.  Early voting is open from October 17 through November 2.  Election Day is November 5.  For more information on how to vote at Bank of America Stadium https://www.bankofamericastadium.com/vote.html.
