AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Talk about a nice and fresh morning as temperatures sat around the mid to low 50s for many. This was the coldest temperatures since April 22nd when we dropped into the 40s for the last time. Over the next few days we should remain right around average temperatures in the mid to low 80s before a warm up at the beginning of next week. Winds have already started to shift with the warmth slowly filtering back in for South Texas before reaching Central Texas. By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will return to the low 90s. Warming trend through the start of next week A storm system diving into the Southern Rockies will likely stay too far north to bring us much in the way of rain, but there's a slim chance for a stray shower on Friday and Saturday that should amount to a less than 10% chance for anything meaningful. Weekend forecast Our rain-free stretch in Austin is now up to 42 days and counting. By the time we get to the end of next week, we'll be entering one of the longest rain-free stretches in Austin's Camp Mabry history. MISS THE COLD?
