53-Year-Old Driver Detained after Fatal Bicycle vs Car Collision near Main Avenue SACRAMENTO, CA (October 17, 2024) – Vicente Perez was arrested Late Saturday evening, after a fatal DUI bicycle collision on Marysville Boulevard. Police officers arrived to the area around 11:30 p.m., near Main Avenue. According to reports, the driver of vehicle hit a cyclist in the area and then fled the scene without offering assistance. When officers arrived, they found that fire personnel had already pronounced the cyclist dead at the location. Emergency crews temporarily closed off the surrounding area while clearing the scene. During their initial investigation, Sacramento Police Department officers were able to locate the fleeing driver nearby. Authorities ultimately arrested 53-year-old Vicente Perez from West Sacramento on suspicion of DUI and multiple other charges.
