My wife and I will be voting for Ari Ioannides for Summit County Council. You have probably heard about where the candidates stand on the issues, but we would like to tell you a little more about our experience with Ari as a person and why we are voting for him. We have known Ari Ioannides and his family for several years now. It wasn’t until he decided to run for Summit County Council that we realized he was a Republican (in the interest of transparency, you should know we are independents and have voted for both parties, but probably more for Democrats). Why are we telling you this? Well, in today’s world of tribalism and political mayhem, it’s a rarity that you cannot tell which party someone is aligned with. Most people’s take on current events is colored and biased by the lens of their political affiliation. But we have not found that to be the case with Ari. He tends to look at the issues from all angles, trying to understand different perspectives and finding solutions that are in the best interest of the stakeholders involved. He does not seem to be beholden to his party’s position but instead is focused on understanding the facts (so rare these days) and finding common sense solutions. We need more elected officials like Ari who are willing to move away from tribal politics and focus on the real issues that need to be solved.  Like most places around our nation, Summit County faces increasingly difficult challenges ahead. We believe that the combination of Ari’s experience as a successful tech entrepreneur and community activist gives him a unique perspective on helping to make government work more efficiently and effectively for its constituents. We also know him to be a person of integrity and character. Someone that deeply cares about the diverse community and will work hard to deliver on the responsibilities and obligations of being an elected official.  For the future of Summit County we will be voting for Ari Ioannides. We invite you to take some time to get to know him and hope you will join us and vote for him too.  Vic Petri and Kim O’Connor CoalvilleThe post Voting for the future appeared first on Park Record.
