LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Thursday! It’s a cold start to the day out there with temperatures starting your Thursday in the low-to-mid 30s. We will be warming up slightly this afternoon, returning to the low 60s in Lexington. This is still below average but an improvement from the 50s we’ve been stuck in this week. Another chilly night is expected overnight, with temperatures falling into the mid-to-upper 30s by Friday morning. Some patchy frost could be possible to begin your Friday. We return near average for this time of the year Friday afternoon. Temperatures will peak around the upper 60s near Lexington, while eastern Kentucky will likely stay in the low-t0-mid 60s. The warming trend will continue into the weekend. Saturday we will return to the low 70s for the afternoon under plentiful sunshine. It’s going to be yet another fantastic Saturday weather-wise at Keeneland, the third Saturday in a row for the Fall Meet! Sunday will be a bit warmer than Saturday with most locations reaching the low-to-mid 70s. Next week will start mild on Monday and stay in the mid-70s through the middle of the week. Our next chance of rain could be late Tuesday into Wednesday as a system moving across the northern plains could throw some moisture our direction. Overall, the pattern does look to turn a bit more active by the end of the month.
