Rockhurst University to reopen Thursday following bomb threat

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Rockhurst University is back open Thursday morning after the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department investigated a bomb threat.
Police said they received the threat at the university around 6:15 p.m. Thursday.

KCPD and Rockhurst police searched the area for any explosive or suspicious objects and the university evacuated students from several buildings.
No one was allowed to return to their campus housing or other buildings until police gave the all-clear. Detectives did not find anything and the police say the campus is safe.
Police briefly shut down Troost Avenue from 52nd to 54th after receiving the threat.
